Our Dentists

Carla Jones

BDS Newcastle. GDC No. 66959

Carla qualified in Newcastle in 1991. She has worked in Saffron Walden since 1997 and started Courtyard Dental Practice in 2007.

She is interested in all aspects of dentistry but particularly in preventive and minimally invasive dentistry. If aesthetic improvements to teeth are desired, most healthy, beautiful smiles can be created using a combination of straightening, whitening and edge bonding, leaving teeth looking their best whilst preserving tooth tissue.

We need our teeth to last for life and communicating the importance of prevention of dental disease - tooth decay, gum disease and also tooth wear and tear - is a key part of Carla's work with her patients.

Carla also provides Invisalign and facial rejuvenation techniques.

Lewis Wagner

BChD Stell 1980 GDC 57904

Lewis qualified in Stellenbosch, South Africa in 1980 and went on to complete his B.Ch.D (Hons.) in oral medicine. In 2008 Lewis completed his MSC. in implant dentistry at Warwick university. In May 2012 Lewis joined The Courtyard Dental Practice full time. Lewis is an experienced dental surgeon, particularly concentrating on cosmetic dentistry, endodontics (root canal treatment) and restorative work.

Harriet Taylor

BDS Lond 2014 GDC 252360

Harriet qualified from Barts and the London in July 2014 as well as obtaining a degree in physiology from the University of Bristol. Harriet enjoys providing patient care throughout all aspects of dentistry and has a good understanding of patients needs.

Purvil Doshi

BDS King’s College London 2015 GDC 258544

Purvil qualified from King's College London in 2015. Since then he has continued his education in Facial Aesthetics, Invisalign and Endodontics. Purvil is passionate about restorative work and building good relationships with his patients.

Heulwen Williams

BDS Wales 2000 GDC 77573

Heulwen qualified in 2000 from University of Wales, Cardiff and after practicing in Australia for two years, she returned to complete her MFDS in 2006.

Heulwen is experienced in all aspects of general dentistry and enjoys treating patients in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. She has continued to gain knowledge in orthodontics and aesthetic dentistry.

Our Hygienists

Shelley Belgrove

BSc Oral Health Science University of Manchester 2003 GDC 6311

Shelley qualified with a degree in Oral health Science from Manchester University Dental Hospital in 2003. After qualifying she stayed in Manchester working alongside inspirational Periodontal Specialists, Hygienists and Therapists.

Shelley joined us in 2008 and her interests range from oral health maintenance to treating patients with advanced Periodontal and Peri-implant disease (gum disease) with non surgical treatment. She has a very gentle and calming nature and enjoys treating anxious patients and children.

Being an active member of The British Society of Dental Hygienists and Therapists, she regularly keeps up to date with current changes in the dental industry. Shelley has also trained in GBT (Guided Biofilm Technolgy) and is a certified EMS airflow GBT practioner.

Dental Nurses

Jazzmine Bradford

Diploma in Dental Nursing Level 3 QCF City and Guilds 2016 GDC 268210

Jazz joined us in September 2014 as a trainee dental nurse. Since gaining her qualification in 2016, she has continued to develop her role. Jazz has furthered her knowledge and completed radiography for dental nurses, enabling her to take different xrays within the dental practice.

Jazz is now our practice treatment co-ordinator and has a special interest in Invisalign.
