How Does Invisalign Work?
Instead of traditional braces made from brackets and wires, Invisalign uses a series of nearly invisible, removable aligners made from a soft, flexible plastic.
The number of aligner trays you need depends on the complexity of your treatments. Every week, you will switch to the next aligner in the series and your smile will become gradually straighter as you work your way through all of the trays.
Each aligner is individually manufactured for your teeth, and your teeth only. As you replace each aligner, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week – until they have straightened to the final position prescribed by your dental practitioner.
Throughout your Invisalign Essex treatment, we have you come back to our dental practice periodically, so we can track your progress and make any necessary adjustments. Some patients may require attachment “buttons” placed on their teeth, which help push and pull your teeth into the desired position.
